3DPartFinder offers a quick, efficient and user-friendly way to find and display in 3D identical and similar components coming from different catalogs in the TraceParts portal.
3DPartFinder may find different group with the same shape in the same catalogue. You could expend these group to list the parts reference. You select the part and navigate on the portal.
Beta stage: As TraceParts Portal generates at high speed 3D views of parts some of them may be missing and not be displayed in the 3D scene presented to you. This will progressively be solved but complete parts list and links within the portal appears in the bottom listing with the similarity rank. A RED sign in front of the part will inform you of the missing part in the 3D Viewer.
The Geometric Search Technology of 3DPartFinder uses only the shape of your selected component to find through dozens of millions of indexed components, the most similar ones.
Each part displayed in the 3D viewer represents a group of one or more parts from a given catalog. Since all the parts in a group have the same shape and come from the same catalog they will most likely differ by their color or material.
BLUE: Represents your selected component, used as the shape reference for the geometrical search.
YELLOW: Components coming from different catalog and having the exact same geometry than the reference part.
RED: Components coming from different catalog with tiny differences (often negligible) to the reference part.
GREEN: Represents a group of one or more parts from a catalog with a similar shape to the reference.
In the 3D viewer, the parts are ordered by similarity. A part near to the reference part has a shape more similar to the reference than a part which is far away.
Almost all components supported by a 3D model in the TraceParts portal have been indexed at this time. All catalogs where components can be found by 3DPartFinder are identified by the blue icon you see beside.
When you select a component, 3DPartFinder finds the most similar ones among millions of other components… in less than a second!
